Winding A Bobbin
Winding a bobbin is an easy task, yet it is an important
element in creating good stitch quality. All top loading Janome sewing machines use the
same clear plastic bobbins for proper stitching. Metal bobbins interfere with the magnetic hook system. Good quality thread is also a must!
1. To initiate the
process, insert the thread through the hole in the bobbin, from the inside to the outside.
2. Put the bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle, and push it to the
right.
3. Set the motor speed to medium so that the bobbin thread
will wind evenly; and avoid stretching which often occurs when wound at the fastest speed. 4. With the free end of the thread held in your hand, depress
the foot control (or touch the start button). 5. When the
machine has made a few turns, stop and cut the thread tail close to the hole in the
bobbin.
6. Restart winding, and when the bobbin is fully wound, it will stop automatically. It is important that the thread is wound evenly on the bobbin, and adjustment
should be made if the winding is not cylindrical, or if the bobbin either overfills or
underfills.

What You Need To Know About
Needles
Ounce for ounce, this is the most important piece of metal on your
machine. If you're sewing along at 600 stitches per minute (not even the fastest many of our Janome models can go), your needle is piercing the fabric TEN times per second. Each and every time,
it must put your thread in exactly the right place at exactly the right time for every
stitch. It's no wonder a worn needle can cause problems for your machine. You should always
start each new project with a new needle. Even better, you should choose the brand of needle
engineered for your machine.
If you're sewing on thicker fabric or doing
particularly dense embroidery, we recommend the Janome Red Tip Needle. At size 14 it's
a little thicker giving it extra strength and durability. It features a special flat back shank for
easier installation, a sturdy shaft with front groove, and a larger eye to help prevent
thread breakage.
The Blue Tip needle has the shaft
size and type of point that gives your machine great performance on all kinds of medium weight fabrics -- whether it's embroidery, quilting, or making garments. At size 11, it's a little
thinner than the Red Tip needle, but without giving up strength and durability. It features
a special flat back shank for easier installation, a sturdy shaft with front groove, and a
larger eye to help prevent thread breakage.
All Janome needles have been designed
to help your machine to stitch its best. And they will work on all Janome sewing, quilting
and embroidery machines.
We stock all Janome needles made exclusively for Janome
machines. Have you changed your needle recently?
